Part 1 ยท Week 2: The Fear of the Lord (Beginning of Wisdom)

Day 9 of 365

The CEO and the King

Scripture

"The Lord is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens. Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?" - Psalm 113:4-6 (NIV)

Reflection

As a CEO and a consultant, you're used to being the one with the 100,000-foot view. You're the strategist, the activator. But the fear of the Lord reminds us that there's a higher throne. It's a call to humility, not in a way that diminishes our strength, but in a way that aligns it with a greater power. Imagine God, enthroned above all, who still "stoops down" to look at our world. He's not a distant, disinterested chairman; He's intimately involved. This perspective frees us from the pressure of having to have all the answers. It allows us to lead with confidence, not because of our own brilliance, but because we're taking our cues from the one who sees the ultimate big picture.

Prayer

Father, thank you for your example of humble leadership. Remind me that my authority is a stewardship from you. Help me to lead my family and my businesses with both confidence and humility, always pointing back to you. Amen.

Action Step

In your next leadership meeting, consciously listen more than you speak. Before making a key decision, take a moment to silently ask for God's perspective.
