Part 1 · Week 2: The Fear of the Lord (Beginning of Wisdom)

Day 10 of 365

The Activator's Antidote to Haste

Scripture

"Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few." - Ecclesiastes 5:2 (NIV)

Reflection

For an "Activator," the bias is always toward action. "Let's go!" is the natural impulse. While this is a huge strength, it can sometimes lead to hasty decisions or words spoken without full consideration. The fear of the Lord acts as a sacred pause. It’s the wisdom to not just react, but to respond after a moment of reverence. It’s recognizing that God is in heaven, and we are on earth—our perspective is limited. This doesn't mean analysis paralysis; it means purposeful action. It's the difference between a knee-jerk reaction and a well-timed, strategic move that comes from a place of quiet confidence in God's sovereignty. A moment of quiet before the Lord can save hours of cleanup from a hasty decision.

Prayer

God, you are in heaven and I am on earth. Forgive me for the times I've rushed ahead of you. Teach me the wisdom of the sacred pause, to seek your counsel before I speak and act. Amen.

Action Step

Identify one significant decision you need to make this week. Before you act, schedule a 15-minute "do not disturb" block on your calendar to simply be quiet and pray about it.
