Part 1 · Week 1: Created with Purpose (Identity in Christ)
Day 3 of 365
Hebrews 6:19 (NIV) - "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure."
As someone who loves the ocean, you understand the power of an anchor. A ship in a raging storm isn't saved by its own strength, but by its connection to something solid and immovable. Leading a business and a family of six can often feel like navigating a hurricane. The market shifts, kids get sick, deals fall through—the waves of life are relentless. In these moments, our own strength, strategy, and positivity can feel laughably inadequate.
This verse reminds us that our hope isn't in our ability to hold on, but in the anchor that holds us. Christ is that anchor. He is firm and secure, unmoved by the chaos that surrounds us. This is a truth that should bring profound peace to a leader's heart. Your security doesn't rest on your shoulders alone. Your identity is anchored in the unchanging character of God, a hope that is both a stabilizing force in the present and a guaranteed promise for the future. It allows you to stand firm, not because you are strong, but because you are securely held.
God, thank you for being the anchor for my soul. When the storms of life, business, and family rage, hold me fast. Remind me that my security is not in my own strength, but in Your unwavering faithfulness. Amen.
The next time you feel a wave of stress or overwhelm today, pause for 60 seconds. Close your eyes, visualize a ship held steady by a massive anchor in a storm, and thank God that He is your anchor.
