Part 1 · Week 1: Created with Purpose (Identity in Christ)

Day 2 of 365

The CEO of Your Calling

Scripture

Colossians 3:23 (NIV) - "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."

Reflection

From your 100,000-foot strategic view, you see the big picture for your companies and your family. This verse provides the ultimate strategic alignment for your entire life. It elevates every task, from a client negotiation to changing a diaper, into an act of worship. You're not just a CEO, a real estate agent, or a consultant; you are the CEO of a divine calling, and your board chairman is the creator of the universe. This perspective transforms pressure into purpose.

Working for the Lord means your standard is not the market, your competitors, or even your own high expectations. Your standard is grace and excellence, driven by love for the One who gave you the skills and opportunities you possess. It frees you from the need for human approval and the fear of human failure. When your work is an offering to God, it infuses even the most mundane tasks with eternal significance. It’s a powerful way to integrate your faith and your work, ensuring that your professional life is a seamless expression of your spiritual identity.

Prayer

Lord, I offer my work to you today. Help me to do everything with all my heart, not for applause or profit, but for Your glory alone. May my leadership reflect Your character and my efforts honor Your name. Amen.

Action Step

Pick one task on your to-do list today that feels like a grind. Before you begin, take 30 seconds to consciously pray and offer that specific work to God as an act of worship.
