Part 1 · Week 1: Created with Purpose (Identity in Christ)
Day 1 of 365
Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) - "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
As a man driven by ideation and a futuristic outlook, you are constantly creating—building businesses, shaping strategies, and nurturing a family. It’s easy to get caught up in the pressure to perform and produce, to prove your worth through your work. But this verse flips the script. Before you do anything, you *are* something: God’s own handiwork, His *poiema*, His masterpiece. Think about that the next time you look in the mirror before your first cup of coffee; you might not feel like a masterpiece, but God’s opinion is the one that holds eternal weight. Your value isn’t in the next deal you close or the next problem you solve; it’s inherent in your design.
The good works you do are not a desperate scramble to earn approval but a joyful overflow of the identity you already possess in Christ. God has already laid out a path of purpose for you, not as a taskmaster, but as a loving Father who has equipped His son for a great adventure. Your life is less about making a name for yourself and more about living into the name you’ve already been given: a child of the King, a masterpiece created with divine intention.
Father, thank you for creating me with purpose and intention. Help me to see myself the way you see me—as your masterpiece. May the work I do today be an overflow of my identity in You, not a striving to earn it. Amen.
Before checking your phone or email this morning, find a mirror, look yourself in the eye, and say out loud, "I am God’s handiwork, created for a purpose."
