Part 1 · Week 1: Created with Purpose (Identity in Christ)
Day 7 of 365
Matthew 5:16 (NIV) - "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
'Positivity' is one of your core strengths. You have an infectious enthusiasm that inspires others. This verse gives your positivity a divine purpose. Your light—your optimism, your humor, your encouragement—is not just a personality trait; it's a spotlight that can direct people's attention to God. The goal is not for people to see how great you are, but to see your good deeds and give glory to your Father in heaven.
This is legacy. As a father of six and a leader in business, you are constantly aware of the example you are setting. This verse clarifies what that example should point to. Your life is a testament, and the message is God's goodness. When you conduct business with unshakable ethics, love your wife and children with visible devotion, and lead with a positive spirit even in tough times, you are shining a light. You are creating a legacy that is not about building your own kingdom, but about pointing to God's.
Father, thank you for the gift of positivity. May it be more than just a personality trait, but a beacon that shines brightly for you. Use my life, my work, and my family to reflect Your goodness, so that others may see and give you all the glory. Amen.
At the end of your workday, take two minutes to reflect on the day. Identify one instance where your 'light' shone. Thank God for that opportunity and ask Him to help you shine even brighter tomorrow.
