Part 1 ยท Week 2: The Fear of the Lord (Beginning of Wisdom)

Day 14 of 365

The Beginning is Just the Start

Scripture

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction." - Proverbs 1:7 (NIV)

Reflection

We end the week where we began, with this foundational truth. The fear of the Lord is the *beginning*. It's not the final exam; it's the prerequisite for the course. It's the key that unlocks the door to a lifetime of learning, growing, and becoming the man God created you to be. For someone with the "Learner" and "Ideation" strengths, this is exciting news. It means there is always more to discover, more to understand, and more ways to apply God's wisdom to your life. The opposite of this is the fool who "despises wisdom and instruction." A wise man, no matter how successful, always remains teachable. The fear of the Lord keeps our hearts open to His instruction, ensuring that our best and most futuristic ideas are still to come, because they are rooted in Him.

Prayer

God, thank you for this starting point. I don't want to be a fool who despises instruction. Keep my heart humble and my mind open to your wisdom. I'm excited to keep learning and growing in you, today and for the rest of my life. Amen.

Action Step

Pick one book of the Bible you want to understand better (Proverbs is a great start!). Commit to reading one chapter a day for the next month. Keep a notebook of the wisdom and instruction you find.
