Part 1 · Week 3: A Man of the Word (Bible as Foundation)
Day 16 of 365
Matthew 7:24-25 - "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock."
San Diego life is pretty sweet, but even here, life can feel like a sudden coastal storm. Market downturns, challenging employees, a kid going through a tough time—the winds and waves are real. Jesus tells us the wise man isn't the one who avoids the storms, but the one who builds on a solid foundation. Hearing God's words is the start, but the real stability comes from *doing* them. For an "Activator" like you, this is key. It’s not just about having great ideas (Ideation), but about executing on the timeless truths of Scripture. When your life, your marriage to Joanna, your parenting, and your business decisions are all built on the rock of God's Word, the inevitable storms won't be a catastrophe; they'll be a chance to see how strong your foundation really is. You can't surf the waves of life without a solid board under your feet.
Father, thank you for being my rock. Help me not just to hear Your words, but to actively put them into practice in every area of my life, so that I can stand firm when the storms come. Amen.
Identify one area where you feel "the winds are blowing." Find a specific proverb or teaching from Jesus that applies to it and write down one practical way you can "put it into practice" this week.
